Summertime and the music is easy in Lancaster County, PA

(Lancaster, Pa.)  Everything about Lancaster in the summer conjures up the perfect setting for enjoying some great music. The scenery, the food, the vibe – it all mixes together melodiously here in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. So grab some friends and check out one or more of these live performances on tap in the next few months:

  • The Long’s Park Summer Music Series in Lancaster treats its audience to a free high quality performance every Sunday evening at 7:30 pm through August 29. The series features a variety of musical genres, from indie rock and jazz to Latin rhythm and bluegrass. Bring your lawn chair, and end the weekend with a good deal and good music.

  • Spend a relaxing evening under the stars, sipping wine and listening to some sweet tunes. The Music in the Vineyards series at Nissley Vineyards & Winery Estate in Bainbridge offers a different band every Saturday from 7:30-10 pm, July 3 – Sept. 4, for $15 per person. The Twin Brook Winery in Gap also hosts bands every Friday from 6:30-9:30 pm through Sept. 3 as part of its Gazebo Concert Series. Tickets range from $4 to $10.

  • Get your trop(ical) rock fix and help out Easter Seals Central Pennsylvania at the second annual Summer in Paradise concert on July 17 from 5-10 pm at the Mt. Hope Estate and Winery, home of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. For just $35 per person, you can enjoy the sounds of trop rock headliners Brent Burns, The Calypso Nuts, and Tropical Soul. Delicious food and cold brews available for purchase from the Swashbuckler BrewPub & Eaterie will provide the perfect sides for the evening’s entertainment.

  • If you’re looking for top notch acts and original productions at an amazing indoor venue, head for Lancaster’s American Music Theatre. From Josh Turner and Huey Lewis to Smokey Robinson and The Glenn Miller Orchestra, plus shows like “Nashville City Limits” and “California Soul,” you can’t go wrong at AMT this summer! For details of upcoming shows and ticket prices, visit www.amtshows.com or call 800-648-4102.

  • Every third Friday evening of the month in Downtown Lancaster is Music Friday, and the summer is no exception! Performances abound as retailers, restaurants, and attractions host musicians and extend their hours. Through September, start off with the Music Friday Happy Hour in the 100 block of N. Queen St, featuring Lancaster Brewing Co. and Tamanend Winery selling their finest. Even contribute your own musical ditty via one of the twenty Keys for the City pianos located downtown until September 17.
