PA Dutch CVB announces new board chair and members for 2010

(Lancaster, Pa.)  The Pennsylvania Dutch Convention & Visitors Bureau (PA Dutch CVB) today announced the appointment of the 2010 chair and four new members to its Board of Directors. The board is comprised of professional tourism partners that govern the organization and ensure it is consistently aligned with its mission to promote and grow visitation to Lancaster County.

Chuck Simmons of Tanger Factory Outlet Center – Lancaster will serve as 2010 chair.  A resident of Mount Joy, Simmons moved up to the chair position after service as vice chair and chair-elect.  He brings 30 years experience in travel, tourism, and customer service to the position, having served in customer relations at TWA and Sight & Sound Theatres prior to becoming general manager of Tanger’s Lancaster location.

New three-year term members of the board are:

Scott Miller, of Lititz and director of marketing at Garden Spot Village.  His background includes a blend of non-profit and commercial experience in marketing, business development, operations, and profit/loss management.  Miller holds a bachelor’s from Millersville University.

Maria-Jose Tennison, of Lititz and director of marketing & guest experience at Sight & Sound Theatres.  Originally from Buenos Aires, Tennison’s 16 years of advertising and marketing experience includes extensive work with national brands as VP Account Director at Young & Rubicam Advertising in Irvine, CA.  She has a bachelor’s from the University of La Verne.

New one-year At Large members of the board are:

Jim Smucker, of Bird-in-Hand and president of Bird-in-Hand Corporation.  He works alongside his brother John as the third generation to run the family hospitality business.  Smucker has also been bakery sales manager, director of marketing & human resources, and executive VP at the company.  He holds a bachelor’s from Goshen College, a master’s from the University of Scranton, and a doctorate from Walden University.

Dennis Stuckey, of Lititz and vice chairman of the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners.  He has served previously as Lancaster County Controller, as well as on the Red Rose Transit Authority and the Lititz Borough Council.  Stuckey also spent more than 20 years in the private sector, with the Walter W. Moyer Co. and Sperry New Holland.  He is a graduate of Penn State University, with a bachelor’s in business administration.
